Commercial land and business development

With a dedicated FDP inquiry, Carsten Seelmeyer asked about new industrial sites and the status of discussions concerning the Kühne & Nagel/Pracht property. The administration reported six municipally owned commercial sites and further private properties that could be offered. It also provided an update on Campus Kalteiche, the Steinweg commercial area in Oberroßbach and redevelopment projects. Ground investigations had been commissioned in connection with the former industrial property.

A lively and orderly town centre

During the debate on extending the bollard system, Seelmeyer pointed out that the FDP had already submitted a related proposal. In his view, a pedestrian zone should not be used for regular car traffic. He welcomed examining the proposal in more detail. The council approved the review motion with 30 votes in favour and one abstention.

Practical approaches to road safety

Seelmeyer raised the question of whether a speed-limit sign alone would change driving behaviour in Fellerdilln. He also suggested examining traffic-calming measures, such as planters or other physical barriers, at particularly sensitive locations. The administration noted that specific locations and road-safety requirements would have to be assessed.

Balanced rules for local businesses

In the discussion about large illuminated advertising signs, Seelmeyer favoured examining the existing options before considering more restrictive measures. The council unanimously supported a timely review of the proposal.

Dialogue with local hunters

In the discussion about wild boar numbers and African swine fever, Seelmeyer suggested that the administration work with local hunters to find workable solutions. This suggestion was recorded in the meeting minutes.
